Pool: Big Rain = Construction Delay

We live in a place that averages less the 5 inches of rain per year.  The problem, we generally get most of that amount in a single storm.

Chris and Monika have a giant hole in the back yard?  Chance of rain = 100%.

It rained... and rained... and rained some more.  As we went to bed with the rain pouring, I was afraid we would wake up to all the walls of the pool having collapsed inward.  Fortunately that didn't happen, but we did end up with a lot of new dirt at the bottom of our pool.   Since we are doing an owner build, the job of removing the new dirt falls on our shoulders.  We are nearly done digging out of this issue... after waiting 4-5 days for the ground to dry.

Yuch!

All that piping was buried before the rain.

This is one of the two trenches that were dug for our retaining wall footing.  Now we have a moat.
