Dearest Daughter...

Dear Daughter,

I am writing to you today as your Mom has recently passed the half-way point of the pregnancy. We have been working hard to get everything ready for your arrival in June and are beside ourselves with excitement about your birth. You will be happy to know Mom and I will be taking a class on how to deal with you being born and what to do with you when we get home. I can speak for myself that having never seen a diaper changed, I am in great need of a class on the subject. I am sure I could figure it out enough that the diaper would make it onto the appropriate part of your body, but beyond that... I choose to not speculate.

Mom has been telling me for weeks she can feel you moving around inside and when you kick. Your wake-up time seems to be around 8pm... or whenever Mom eats/drinks something cold. Just about a week ago, I had my head pressed to Mom's belly listening to the sounds you were making when you apparently decided I was too close and kicked me in the head. While it is very cute at this age, I want you to be aware that it will not be tolerated much past your first birthday. It was a very emotional moment for me though... that was our first real communication between each other.

By the way... all that talking you hear on a nightly basis coming from the region of Mom's belly button... that's me. Just bringing you up to date on what's happenin' out here in the world. You seem to kick more when I do that, so I can only assume you are hearing me. If you have any music requests, just let me know and I can see what I can do.

Hope you are doing well, and we can't wait to see you in a little over four months. (Note... you are more than welcome to come earlier than that, but please call ahead so we know to expect you.

Love...
Dad
