More evidence of my age: I received a Pottery Barn catalogue in the mail today. Instead of throwing it away, I looked through it. I am actually considering making some purchases. I feel unclean.

Important Announcement...

Last year around this time I began to notice somebody at work. She was funny, smart, and beautiful. I have a rule about dating people I work with, so of course I could never act on what I was starting to feel, but wow ... she was pretty incredible. As time went by, we talked... we got to know each other better, and finally I couldn't stand it. I asked her out. As time lead up to our first date I was as nervous as a high school kid getting ready for my first date ever. I couldn't believe it. I barely know this girl and already my stomach is in knots?! My nerves didn't get much better after I picked her up. When I knocked on her door and she opened it, I caught my breath. She was beautiful. There was no way I was going to make it through the night without making a fool of myself. On our first date I took her to VooDoo Lounge at the top of the Rio hotel. Our seat was right next to the window with a perfect view of the Las Vegas strip. I couldn't tell you much about dinne...

Question for the guys...

Ok... Let me set the scene for you. I was running late (in the morning). I needed to get out the door quickly. The trash can was full, and didn't really have the time to take the trash out and put a new bag in the can. I knew I would be the first one home and could take care of it then. That morning I finished the last bit of milk in the carton, but there was an entirely full second one there also. Because the trash was full, I couldn't put it in the trash can. I didn't want to leave it on the island because that looks bad. So I put it back in the fridge fully expecting to throw it out with the rubbish when I got home. This is acceptable isn't it? --Chris

Timing is everything...

Out of all the variables involved in a wedding, never did I think picking a date would be the biggest hurdle. I imagined it would be finding the perfect woman (we found each other), finding a place (first place we looked), finding the ring (piece of cake), picking a dress (for her... think this is almost complete), etc etc etc. I really never considered picking the date to be a hurdle. While still in the loving haze of having just got engaged, Monika and I began to discuss when to get married over several glasses of champagne. When to get married in Poland was easy to figure out because it needed to be at least a year away and it has to line up with a couple other factors. Two weeks in August 2009 were very easy to zero in on. Then we began to discuss the American wedding. The door was pretty wide open on what to do. We considered flying to Hawaii and getting married on the beach and just letting everybody know the "where and when". We thought about an Elvis wedding. ...
